Merry Christmas and Warm Wishes for a Wonderful New Year for you and your families.
Psalm 98:1-2 “O sing to the Lord a new song,For He has done wonderful things,His right hand and His holy arm have gained the victory for Him.The Lord has made known His salvation; He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations.”
Looking back over 2018, it has been a year of many transitions, changes, adventures, and challenges. And there are so many things for which to be thankful. Most of all I am thankful for each one of YOU! Thank you for your friendship, your prayers, and your financial support. You are God’s blessings to me.
A few other PRAISES from 2018:
- Safe travels all over the country the first half of the year.
- Opportunities to minister to/encourage people and share Jesus’s love with them.
- For the 24 individuals/families and the 3 churches that have signed up as monthly financial partners.
- And because of them I’m currently 38.4% of the way toward returning overseas.
- Opportunities to do Bible Studies with a couple of young women both here and back in Nicaragua.
A few PRAYER requests for 2019:
- That God would guide the plans for the coming year, and His timing of when I return overseas.
- For more people who would be interested in becoming monthly financial partners
Many friends have been asking questions about the long-term goals, so here is a quick Q&A of Frequently Asked Questions.
A. Are you returning to overseas missions work?
- Absolutely! I’ve signed up with ABWE, International as a life-time missionary. And I plan to go back to Nicaragua.
B. When are you going back overseas?
- Don’t know exact time yet, but as soon as I’m 100%, ABWE will clear me to depart. Probably 1-2 years from now.
C. What are you up to while you are back in the USA?
- Working at a real estate office by day and trying to connect with people to share about Nicaragua and missions on nights and weekends.
D. What will you do when you go back overseas?
- Help with church plants in the areas of Sunday School, Youth Groups, Music, Womens’ Bible Studies, and helping train nationals in these areas. Help the churches with outreach through ESL classes, literacy classes, Bible clubs, and feeding programs. Encouraging the wives/daughters of national pastors as they serve alongside their husbands/fathers. One-on-one evangelism and discipleship in the communities.
E. How will you get back overseas?
- While it used to be called “deputation,” it is now called “pre-field ministry”: the process of sharing the passion/vision God has given for serving overseas with people here in the USA, and inviting individuals and churches to become involved themselves as prayer partners and monthly financial partners. Pre-field ministry is also a time to come alongside people God brings across my path to be an encouragement and a light to them.
F. What happens with the $ that is being given now?
- It is all going into a holding account with ABWE. Once I’m close, then money will be released in monthly installments.
If you have questions, feel free to reach out to me (860-899-5476). If you have prayer requests that I can pray about with you, please reach out to me. If you, your small group, or church would like to have me come share, I’d love the opportunity.
