Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you had a wonderful day.
There is much to be thankful for:
- Thankful for time with my family today.
- Thankful for all of you.
- Thankful for more people who have given financially and that I am now at approximately 40%!!!
- Thankful for good meetings with the teens and college kids at Truth Baptist Church to share about following God and about Nicaragua. God really guided the times there and it was special how everything I shared dovetailed with what they were already learning. Also a great Q&A time with the college kids many of whom are at the phase of trying to figure out what they should do in life.
Lots has been happening in Nicaragua. The folks at the church down there are very excited about the new property they got and have been very busy clearing the land. Hopefully soon they will finalize the building plans as well.
And someone found an old freezer big enough to be turned into a baptism tank so they are also working on that! Maybe this sounds strange, but what may sound stranger to you is that I didn’t think twice about it when I heard. I mean, if it works why not use it, right? (Guess I’m becoming more Nica as I go J.
Someone paid for all the teens and older kids from the church in San Juan del Sur to go to camp for a day. They had a blast at the ABWE camp just outside the capitol city. Even more exciting, one of the young teen girls from San Juan del Sur who as been through some of the worst things in life was one of the ones able to go. While there she decided she wanted to turn to Jesus. So fabulous! Please pray for “E” that God would bring healing and wholeness to her life and protect her going forward.
Life here has been pretty quiet. Some closed doors which can be discouraging. So I am also thankful for the chance to help several different friends out by babysitting. Working with kids helps me stay “young” and “fit.” Kids help you stop & enjoy the little things in life. Whether its their enthusiasm to give you a page they colored, or their look of delight as they jump in a pile of leaves, or how they enjoy being read the same book over and over again, they help give me better perspective on life. Their greatest delight is to have undivided time with a family member or friend. Oh to have the same great delight to have more and more undivided time with the Lord, for that is where joy is really going to be found.
Psalm 7:12&14 “Oh God do not be far from me; O my God, hasten to my help . . . But as for me, I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more.”
