Today is Independence Day in Nicaragua. Each year, during the month of September, the nation celebrates its freedom. There are parades and presentations highlighting the culture and people of Nicaragua. Today though, September 15th, is considered the official Independence Day when they declared themselves free from Spanish rule in 1821. Now in 2015 they also celebrate the freedom and the peace the country currently enjoys. Praying each person there receives the freedom and peace found in Jesus.

Since the last update, life has been rather quiet. Thankful to share that two more families have signed up to be involved by being monthly supporters. This means I am now at 22% of the total amount of support needed.
Two other families have expressed interest in becoming monthly givers. And two couples have told me they plan to get involved with one time gifts.
This past week God provided a new computer, so I can now take all my Nicaragua pictures and create a video presentation to share with churches and individuals, rather than just power point. Pray that the script writing and creation of the video goes well.
Over Labor Day weekend I was able to have some special, meaningful time with family and extended family in NYC and on the CT shore. So great to create more memories with them all.
Now that summer is over and people and pastors are back from vacations, hopefully this process will move forward more swiftly. In Haggai 1:13-14 “I am with you,’ declares the Lord.” So the Lord stirred up the spirit of . . . all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked . . .”
Sometimes God wants us to learn to sit and trust Him. Sometimes God wants us to step up and do something. And sometimes God works in both areas at once. I need to not let anxiety or discouragement keep me from trusting nor let any spirit of laziness hinder me from rolling forward faster.
Over the last two weeks God has so many times showed how He can mightily answer prayer as I deeply seek His will. And a few things came up that were great reminders of the fact the He works behind the scenes even when nothing seems to be happening on the surface. “Do not be afraid, O Zion; Do not let your hands fall limp. The Lord your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy. . .” Zephaniah 3:16-17.
