Psalm 25:5 “Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day.”
Have you ever been on a roller coaster? There are moments when it crawls along slowly, and then picks up speed. Sometimes it goes up and then next minute dips down and then hurtles back up again.
This summer has been a bit like a roller coaster with changes in speed and with some ups and downs.
The rest of the July training was phenomenal. We learned so much about working and living in other cultures and about sharing the gospel and helping people grow so they in turn reach others who in turn reach others. Grateful for the awesome Table Group I got to be part of. They were the best! Another awesome part of that time was hearing stories from missionaries and nationals who have years of experience in other cultures.
In August we celebrated my father’s retirement after 37 years with the same company. Our family is also busy getting ready for my brother’s wedding in October. It has been very special to be part of these momentous occasions in the lives of my family. Also at beginning of this month, my family helped me move once again (I’m still in CT though).
“Días de Patria” = Patriotic Days. September is a big celebration month in Nicaragua as they celebrate their independence. Kids prepare for weeks to be part of the celebrations. There are fireworks, parades, speeches, music, and special events all over the country. A torch is carried across the entire length of the country, as each town along the way picks a top student to carry the torch through their area.
Thank you to all who pray regularly for me and Nicaragua. It is because of your prayers that God keeps bringing people to be part of this team.
We saw how God miraculous brought me above 50% in time for the training.
Right after the training I lost some support, bringing the amount back down to 50%. (People are so faithful to partner, but sometimes life circumstances change and people need to bow out. Totally understandable and God knows it all in advance.)
But this month, thanks to 2 new supporters, we are now up to 53%.
We plant seeds but God is the one who causes things to grow and bear fruit. He is faithfully working even when life gets crazy.
Requests:
- God to connect me to new contacts to share with about Nicaragua
- Blessings on my brother’s upcoming wedding
- Improved strength and health
Praises:
- Opportunities to invest in the children at my church through the Primary Church program
- Ongoing Bible Study with a young believer
- Chances to share God stories with people around me (“God Story” = how God helps & provides)
Feel free to share this with family and friends and acquaintances.
If you, your small group, or church would like to have me come share about missions, I’d love the opportunity. Contact me.
