UPCOMING:
Goodbye Potluck Picnic: Friday, August 26, 2016. 4pm-8:30pm. My family is hosting this at Northwest Park Pavilion in Windsor, CT. Please RSVP to me by August 13 as we need a headcount.
Missionary Sendoff/Commissioning Service: Sunday, September 18, 2016. 6pm. All welcome.
Departure for Nicaragua: Monday, September 19th.
Looks like I will be traveling most weekends between now and my flight to Nicaragua. I would like to revisit the churches I visited last fall and possibly share updates before I leave. Pray that the scheduling would work out.
Lots that still has to be finished before I leave.
PAST MONTH (JULY):
Thanks to the help of friends and contacts I was able to obtain all the official documents needed and have them all translated to take to Nicaragua. HUGE PRAISE.
Finished up my job at Hartt Community Division last week. While it has only been 9 months since I started the job, it was hard to say goodbye to the people there. Hoping to stay in touch with them and with everyone from my past jobs.
Neat opportunity last week to share with a co-worker about the incredible love and forgiveness of God that was shown through Jesus’s death on the cross for us. It doesn’t matter what we have done, thought, or said in the past, God wants a personal relationship with us and is able to forgive and change us if we turn to Him asking for forgiveness. (Pray for her and for everyone in the past that I’ve feebly attempted to share this good news with, that they would turn to Jesus. I often wish I could go back in time and share better.)
Lots of goodbyes this month at work, at a family reunion in CT, at the family reunion this weekend in MI, at my old church. Learning to savor every moment with people. Goodbyes are hard but that also means there have been many great memories. Wish I could connect with each of you individually to say goodbye in person, but if that doesn’t happen, please know that I’m thinking of you and praying for God’s blessing on each of your lives.
