I arrived safely in Costa Rica yesterday (5/2/2015). All of the flights went well and all of my luggage arrived with me!
Thank you for your prayers.
Before leaving for the airport at 4:15am, I saw the moon shining and was reminded that God made the sun and moon to give us physical light around the clock and those lights is always shining even when we can't see them due to clouds or storms. In a far greater way God is our Light (Jesus is the "Light of the World), and He is always present even when the "clouds & storms" of our lives obscure our sight. What a comforting reminder as I started the journey.
Pray for my fellow passengers on my 2 flights (1st flight - rehab nurse next to me; 2nd flight - man from Ecuador). God gave me courage to share briefly about God and give each a gospel tract.
I am now at my host family's home waiting for a ride to church (One of the directors of the language school is taking me to her church).
My host family is very nice, but my hostess speaks no English. So it could be a wild ride for the next 5 weeks but that is what I signed up for (Thankfully her daughter speaks some English & she will be there most mornings)
Class orientation starts bright and early tomorrow.
